Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might.Ecclesiastes 9:10
Faithful, Bible-preaching churches had some of the worst websites on the internet. Not from lack of care — from lack of anyone in their corner who could represent them well online. A ministry whose entire purpose is reaching people deserves a real digital presence. A digital witness. That conviction is where Artifex began.
It started with my daughter. She had an HTML class project and chose to rebuild our church's website — Faith Baptist Church in Colonial Heights, VA. The existing site was stuck in the 90s — flat, plain, and not doing the church justice. It was a perfect project.
I jumped in to help. Started learning alongside her. But she had to go back to college and couldn't finish, so I kept going — not because I planned to start a business, but because the conviction wouldn't let go.
I poured hours into learning. Used every resource available — tutorials, documentation, AI tools, trial and error. The work got better. The sites I built got reactions — church members and visitors called them remarkable. That kind of momentum confirms direction.
Twenty-plus years in cybersecurity taught me to think in systems, respect what's underneath before touching what's on top, and understand that shortcuts cost people. That discipline carries into every site I build — security isn't an afterthought, it's foundational.
The name comes from Latin — craftsman. Jesus was a carpenter. He worked with His hands, built with precision, and never produced anything less than what the work required. That's my standard — not a slogan, but an accountability I carry every time I open a file.
I'm Orlando. I'm based in Virginia. You'll work directly with me — not a team, not a ticket system. I know your ministry or business by name, and I build it right the first time.
