I saw a need. I filled it.

Custom web design for churches, healthcare practices, and small businesses — built by hand, with purpose, on the foundation of the Master Craftsman.

Artifex is a web design agency based in Virginia, founded by Orlando R Garcia. The name comes from Latin — meaning craftsman — and reflects a commitment to building websites by hand with the precision and purpose of the Master Craftsman. Artifex specializes in custom WordPress sites for Baptist churches, healthcare practices, and small businesses.

Faithful, Bible-preaching churches had some of the worst websites on the internet. Not from lack of care — from lack of anyone in their corner who could represent them well online. A ministry whose entire purpose is reaching people deserves a real digital presence. A digital witness. That conviction is where Artifex began.

It started with my daughter. She had an HTML class project and chose to rebuild our church's website — Faith Baptist Church in Colonial Heights, VA. The existing site was stuck in the 90s — flat, plain, and not doing the church justice. It was a perfect project.

I jumped in to help. Started learning alongside her. But she had to go back to college and couldn't finish, so I kept going — not because I planned to start a business, but because the conviction wouldn't let go.

I poured hours into learning. Used every resource available — tutorials, documentation, AI tools, trial and error. The work got better. The sites I built got reactions — church members and visitors called them remarkable. That kind of momentum confirms direction.

Twenty-plus years in cybersecurity taught me to think in systems, respect what's underneath before touching what's on top, and understand that shortcuts cost people. That discipline carries into every site I build — security isn't an afterthought, it's foundational.

The name comes from Latin — craftsman. Jesus was a carpenter. He worked with His hands, built with precision, and never produced anything less than what the work required. That's my standard — not a slogan, but an accountability I carry every time I open a file.

I'm Orlando. I'm based in Virginia. You'll work directly with me — not a team, not a ticket system. I know your ministry or business by name, and I build it right the first time.

More than code.

20+ years in cybersecurity — security-first thinking in every build
Faith-driven conviction — churches deserve a real digital witness
Built from scratch — no templates, no shortcuts
Built to show up in Google search and in AI recommendations
Direct access — you work with me, not a team
Self-taught and resourceful — every tool, every hour, until the work speaks

Statement of Faith

The Scriptures

We believe the Bible is the inspired, infallible, preserved Word of God. We hold to the King James Version as the preserved Word of God for the English-speaking people. (2 Timothy 3:16; Psalm 12:6–7)

The Godhead

We believe in one God eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (1 John 5:7; Matthew 28:19)

The Lord Jesus Christ

We believe in His virgin birth, sinless life, substitutionary death, bodily resurrection, and literal return. (Isaiah 7:14; 1 Peter 2:22; 1 Corinthians 15:3–4; Acts 1:11)

Salvation

We believe salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone — not of works. Once saved, always saved. (Ephesians 2:8–9; John 10:28–29; Romans 10:9–10, 13)

The Local Church

We believe in the autonomy of the local, visible New Testament church. The church is the body and bride of Christ, tasked with the Great Commission. (Matthew 28:19–20; Ephesians 5:25; Acts 2:41–47)

Baptism

We believe in baptism by immersion as the first act of obedience after salvation — not for salvation, but as a public testimony. (Acts 8:36–39; Romans 6:4)

The Second Coming

We believe in the personal, pre-tribulational, premillennial return of the Lord Jesus Christ. (1 Thessalonians 4:16–17; Revelation 20:4–6)

Separation

We believe in biblical separation — from worldliness and ecclesiastical compromise. (2 Corinthians 6:14–17; Romans 12:1–2)

These convictions aren't a formality — they're the foundation every Artifex project is built on.

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
Ephesians 2:10
