- What he can help with
- Questions about services, pricing and process. He can point you to the blog or the glossary, and to my email when you need me.
- What he can’t do
- He can’t see or scan your website; the free scan does that. He can’t book a call or send a message for you. And he can be wrong, so if an answer matters, check it with me.
- Where your words go
- What you type is sent to Anthropic, the AI company, so Arti can write a reply. Your chat history is kept in your browser tab and clears when you close it. The privacy policy has the details.
- Who’s behind him
- I built Arti and I run this site. If you would rather talk to a person, email me at contact@artifex-web.com.
Behind the build
- The name
- Artifex is Latin for an artist or craftsman, built from ars (art) and -fex (maker).
- Where he started
- Arti started here. He has answered questions on this site since April 2026, and got his wooden frame and face in August, before he ever showed up in a social post.
- How it’s built
- Every page on this site is custom-coded. No page builder, no templates.
- Who builds it
- Twenty-plus years in cybersecurity gave me the discipline. The rest I taught myself.
- Why the frame
- Arti was designed with craft and code in mind: a wooden frame for the craft, and a command-line screen for a face.
